Business Exchange Day 2013

Business Exchange Day, November 28, Val-d’Or

“Developing the Nord-du-Québec in conjunction with communities living in the North”, was the theme of the 2013 Business Exchange Day. This year’s event of effective planned business meetings, organized in collaboration with ComaxAT/ComaxNord, took place in Val-d’Or, on Thursday, November 28, and brought together more than two hundred (200) participants from Abitibi-Témiscamingue and the Nord-du-Québec.

Highlights of the Business Exchange Day is the privilege access to Cree Nation organizations and companies, a keynote address by Cree Regional Authority Capital Works & Services Director General, Mr Henry Mianscum, along with Forestry Industry Association Director, Mr Nicolas Fortin, and the attendance of more than one hundred and fifty (150) different companies. But central to the event are one-on-one 15-minute meetings between businesses whose interests intersect; making the Business Exchange Day a successful event and a genuine lever for economic development that enables companies and organizations to establish strategic, commercial, financial and technological partnerships with Cree communities.

Again, the Secretariat creates favourable information and knowledge-sharing conditions that respect both the local communities and the environment in order to promote economic development.
