On June 18-19, the city of Rouyn-Noranda hosted the 20th edition of our annual conference, "The North and Its Logistics." This landmark event brought together nearly 200 participants, including Indigenous, municipal, regional leaders, economic leaders, and business representatives. Together, we explored the unique logistical challenges of the Eeyou Istchee Baie-James territory.
Discussions covered crucial topics such as food autonomy, the impact of wildfires, infrastructure, and technological innovations. Our panels served as a true platform for exchange and sharing, offering new perspectives and solutions tailored to the North's realities.
The numbers speak for themselves:
- 97% of participants found the topics relevant.
- 90% praised the event's organization and logistics.
- 20% of participants were attending a SCNATEA event for the first time.
- 40% of the organizations present were Indigenous.
- 89% of our participants do business in Northern Quebec and/or Nunavik.
