Building Together: A Partnership Guided by Trust, Dialogue, and a Shared Goal

For 14 years, L. Fournier & Fils has been collaborating with Eeyou-Istchee’s Indigenous communities in a spirit of respect, reciprocity, and continuous improvement. These relationships are built over time, through dialogue and openness, and they evolve with each project, each lesson learned, and the challenges encountered along the way.
Among these partnerships, the involvement of Construction Tawich holds particular significance. As a 100% Cree-owned company, Tawich carries a mission deeply rooted in community development, knowledge transmission, and cultural continuity. Their vision—anchored in Cree identity, connection to the land, and the desire to create meaningful opportunities for their members—enriches the way we work together.
This year, our teams joined forces to carry out major work at the Dhilmar Éléonore mine site. The project unfolded in a spirit of healthy collaboration, with each partner contributing its workers and heavy equipment. We also highlight the value of a growing partnership—one capable of addressing on-the-ground challenges while fostering human and professional growth. Construction Tawich brings an essential contribution: a highly skilled workforce, deep community commitment, and a unique perspective shaped by cultural responsibilities and a long-term vision for sustainable development. Their approach—grounded in humility, rigor, and strong engagement—positively influences our own practices.
“This collaboration allows us to showcase the expertise and rigor of our team while continuing to learn and improve. Working with Fournier means uniting our strengths around a shared objective: collective success.”
Earle Danyluk
Director General Construction Tawich Inc.
For Dhilmar Éléonore, this partnership reflects a clear commitment to supporting strong local initiatives that foster empowerment and progress for surrounding Indigenous communities.
“We are proud to work with civil works experts who share our vision of responsible development with meaningful social benefits, while remaining highly effective on the ground. The Fournier-Tawich partnership demonstrates what a team united by shared values can accomplish.”
Jacynthe Lafond
External Relations Coordinator – Dhilmar Éléonore
Beyond the mandates, this alliance represents a human relationship: learning from one another, acknowledging challenges, celebrating shared successes, and moving forward together toward a common goal. At Fournier, we are proud to work with partners as dedicated as Tawich—partners whose vision, identity, and determination elevate each project and strengthen our collaborative approach.
“We value the quality of the workforce integrated into our teams, as well as the unique perspective Tawich brings. It reminds us that behind the equipment and the mining development, there are people—with their challenges and ambitions—and that, in the long run, it is the human relationships that will be remembered long after the project ends.”
